what is Moon?

  • The moon is the earth's only natural satellite. it is about 3,84,400 km from the earth. its diameter is one-fourth of that of the earth and its gravity is one-sixth of the earth's. The moon has no atmosphere and water, resulting in the absence of any form of life on it.
  • The moon takes about 28 days to revolve around the earth and the same time to rotate on its axis too. This is the reason why we always see the same side of the moon from the earth and never get to see its other side.
  • The surface of the moon is full of craters, largely due to the bombardment of meteorites.

चंद्रमा क्या है?

  • चंद्रमा पृथ्वी का एकमात्र प्राकृतिक उपग्रह है। यह पृथ्वी से लगभग 3,84,400 किमी दूर है। इसका व्यास पृथ्वी का एक-चौथाई है और इसका गुरुत्वाकर्षण पृथ्वी के छठे हिस्से का है। चंद्रमा के पास कोई वायुमंडल और पानी नहीं है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप उस पर जीवन के किसी भी रूप का अभाव है।
  • चंद्रमा को पृथ्वी के चारों ओर घूमने में लगभग 28 दिन लगते हैं और उसी समय अपनी धुरी पर घूमने के लिए भी। यही कारण है कि हम हमेशा पृथ्वी से चंद्रमा का एक ही पक्ष देखते हैं और इसके दूसरे पक्ष को कभी नहीं देख पाते हैं।
  • चंद्रमा की सतह बड़े पैमाने पर उल्कापिंडों की बमबारी के कारण, क्रेटरों से भरी हुई है।
